Enhance Your Smile with Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a highly versatile method of smile restoration and can cover up just about any cosmetic issue.

The veneer treatment process is non-invasive and usually takes only two appointments over the course of 2-3 weeks.

As an experienced cosmetic dentist, Dr. Christiansen offers superior results and can help you get the smile you deserve.

At your cosmetic consultation, Dr. Christiansen will discuss all of your options and help you choose the right treatment for your smile restoration.

Am I a Good Candidate for Veneers?

Veneers are a very versatile treatment, and can be used to cover up the majority of cosmetic issues. If you have problems like gaps, chips, staining, or small or misshapen teeth, veneers may be right for you. However, your mouth must be healthy in order to receive veneers since they are not intended to be a restorative treatment. Veneers can not be used to restore severely damaged teeth. To find out if you’re a good candidate for veneers and to explore all of your cosmetic options, schedule a consultation with Dr. Christiansen.

What Are the Benefits of Choosing Veneers?

Veneers have a number of great benefits. Veneers look and feel natural. and they are completely indistinguishable from your real teeth when chewing, eating, speaking, and smiling. Another great benefit of veneers is that they are minimally-invasive, and it usually only takes 2 appointments over 2-3 weeks at Loveland Lakes Family Dentistry to have your veneers placed. This means that you can get your dream smile quickly. Veneers are also very durable and long-lasting, with a lifespan of 10-15+ years with proper care. They are also stain-resistant, so your smile will look great long after treatment, as long as you brush and floss regularly, and see Dr. Christiansen for teeth cleanings every 6 months.

How Are Veneers Placed? What Can I Expect from the Process?

After Dr. Christiansen has confirmed that you’re a good candidate for veneers, you’ll come in for your first appointment. Your mouth will be cleaned and numbed, and Dr. Christiansen will remove a very thin layer of enamel from each tooth that will receive a veneer. This is necessary to ensure that your veneers fit seamlessly. Next, he will take dental impressions and images of your teeth, which will be sent to a dental lab where your veneers will be made. In the meantime, you’ll be sent home with a set of temporary veneers.

In 2-3 weeks, you’ll come back for your final visit. Dr. Christansen will check each veneer to make sure that it fits, then bond each one into place. Once all your veneers have been bonded, your smile will be buffed and polished to complete the veneer placement process.

How Should I Care for My Veneers Post-Treatment?

Veneers do not require special care. You may experience a bit of discomfort for a few days after treatment, but this should subside quickly. All you have to do to care for your veneers is treat them like real teeth. This means you need to brush and floss regularly and come see us for regular teeth cleanings.

To ensure the longevity of your new smile, it is important to take a few precautions. You should avoid using your teeth as tools to do things like open bags and packages, as this can damage your veneers. You should also avoid chewing extremely hard foods like ice or non-food objects like pens and fingernails. Finally, you should get a nightguard if you grind and clench your teeth, as untreated teeth grinding can dislodge and damage your veneers.
